Accessibility for people with mobility impairments
At the Nordic Centre Planica, we strive to create an environment that is accessible to all visitors. In Planica, we focus on possibilities rather than limitations, and we are committed to making your visit as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Main building and parking
For visitors with mobility impairments, two designated parking spaces are available directly in front of the main building.
The entrance to the main building is fully accessible, with only a minimal door threshold. The interior is designed without architectural barriers, with all spaces on a single level, while upper floors are accessible by elevator – including the rooftop terrace, which offers a stunning view of the Julian Alps.
Accessible restrooms
Restrooms are located on the ground floor of the main building, just behind the souvenir shop.
Accessible café
A small café is located in the central part of the building and can be reached by elevator. An outdoor terrace is also available and is fully accessible.
Activities and experiences in Planica
Chairlift
A panoramic chairlift ride to the top of the Gorišek Brothers’ ski flying hill is also available for wheelchair users, but only with the assistance of a companion. Advance notice is required so we can provide the necessary support.
Access to the lower chairlift station is possible via an asphalt road or by car. The two-seater chairlift then takes you to the top of the flying hill, where you can disembark at the upper station. From there, the take-off area is just a few dozen meters away along a flat gravel path. Reaching the very top of the take-off area (the observation deck) involves approximately 20 steps.
Groups
With prior arrangement, we can also organize a guided tour with a customized program. If you wish, you can take the panoramic chairlift to the top of the flying hill.
We recommend contacting us in advance by phone or email so we can discuss the possibilities for your visit and the activities you would like to include in your program.
Zipline
The zipline is not specifically adapted for visitors with mobility impairments; however, with sufficient determination and interest, this experience can still be made possible for some individuals. Advance booking is required, as your time slot will not be during regular operating hours. Instead, we will arrange a suitable time when visitor numbers are lower, making the experience easier for you and your companion.
The zipline is certainly a great challenge for wheelchair users, which many are able to complete successfully. However, we encourage you to assess your own abilities and any concerns before deciding. It is essential to have a companion with you and a willingness for an adrenaline-filled experience – everything else, we will be happy to assist with.

Hotel Dom Planica
The sports hotel is fully accessible for guests with mobility impairments.
Accessible parking
A large parking area is located in front of the hotel. At present, there are no specially marked disabled parking spaces. We recommend reserving a parking spot near the steps in advance, ensuring a suitable space for transfer.
Accessible entrance and interior
The hotel entrance is fully barrier-free. Rooms are accessible by elevator with a clear width of 80 cm. Most corridors are very wide, allowing comfortable movement with a wheelchair.
Accessible bathrooms and restrooms
The hotel has two accessible rooms, each with its own bathroom. The bathrooms are equipped with a level-access (step-free) shower and grab rails.
An accessible toilet for general use is located on the ground floor next to the reception. The clear door width is 80 cm.
Accessible restaruant
The restaurant is located on the first floor and is accessible by elevator.
With prior notice, we can adjust the layout of tables, benches, and other equipment to ensure smooth and comfortable passage. The restaurant also extends to an outdoor area, which can be reached via a ramp. As the ramp is steep, we recommend assistance.
Accessible sports hall, fitness, and sauna
The basement area of the hotel, where the sports hall and fitness facilities are located, is also accessible via a ramp. One of the connecting paths includes a steep ramp; in this case, we recommend assistance or returning to the elevator.
