Is Planica suitable for families?
Absolutely. With plenty of open space and a wide range of activities and attractions, Planica is an excellent destination for families. We recommend wearing comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing to make the most of your visit.
How much time should I allow for a visit?
For a first impact, we recommend allowing at least 1–2 hours. If you choose to take part in one or more of the many activities available – such as the zipline, museum visit, chairlift ride, disc golf, or cross-country skiing – your visit to Planica can easily become a half-day experience.
Where can I buy tickets and get information?
Tickets for activities can be purchased at the information desk (reception) in the main building. For certain activities, tickets can also be purchased online.
Is entry to the Planica Nordic Centre free of charge?
Yes. Entry to Planica is completely free of charge. However, if you choose to take part in any of the available activities (such as a guided tour, museum visit, zipline, disc golf, or cross-country skiing), tickets are required.
What can I experience at the Planica Nordic Centre?
Planica is more than just a day trip – it is a place of world records, beautiful views, and a wide range of experiences. Walk through the centre and discover the many activities in the valley of Planica.
Can visitors watch ski jumping training sessions in Planica?
The ski jumps are an open-air venue, so you are welcome to watch the training sessions without any restrictions. Training sessions are usually held on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. onwards (generally every day except Mondays).
To protect the athletes’ privacy, we are unfortunately unable to provide information about who is attending a training session. However, you can check whether training is taking place and which hill is being used in the Conditions section.
Is there a café or restaurant in Planica?
Yes. A café is available in the main building, where you can enjoy refreshments and light snacks. It is open every day.
We are visiting as a group – do we need to make a reservation?
Yes. If you choose any of our activities, advance reservation is required.
What happens in case of bad weather?
If the weather is unfavorable, a visit to the Planica Museum is an excellent alternative. The indoor facilities also include a covered cross-country skiing track (during the summer season) and a wind tunnel. You can also browse the souvenir shop or enjoy a slice of the famous Planica cake in our café.
If you have booked an activity with us, we will notify you in advance of any cancellation. In many cases, activities are not canceled but simply adapted to the weather conditions to ensure you have the best possible experience during your visit.
