One of the largest ski flying hills in the world, the Gorišek Brother’s ski flying hill, has held both the women’s world record (Nika Prevc, 242.5 m, 27 March 2026) and the men’s world record (Domen Prevc, 254.5 m, 30 March 2025) since 2026!

Two great names, two historic records
Austrian Sepp Bradl and Finnish Toni Nieminen proved to the world that humans can fly on skis. Bradl was the first to break the magical 100-metre mark in 1936, while Nieminen became the first to fly beyond 200 metres in 1994. Two remarkable records that have elevated the valley of Planica into one of the greatest sporting valleys in the world.

In the wider area of the Bloudek Giant and later the Gorišek Brothers’ ski flying hill, a modern Nordic centre now stands. As part of the centre, you can also view the renovated and newly equipped ski jumps.
