A cake with history
The Planica Cake is the result of a special collaboration between the Planica Nordic Centre, Ljubljanske mlekarne, Conditus, and the creators at the Zavod V-oglje.
It was inspired by the legendary Planica ice cream, which Ljubljanske mlekarne has been producing for over 50 years. In 1974 – at a time when ski jumping was exceptionally popular – it was named after Planica.
Today, this iconic flavor is being revived in a new form: as a cake that you can only try when visiting Planica.
Quality that honors its origins
We entrusted the creation of the cake to Conditus, where they crafted a dessert that preserves the core values of the Planica brand.
It is made from fresh, exclusively Slovenian milk – a hallmark of Planica ice cream – which is no small feat in the world of industrial production.
Every bite thus combines tradition, quality, and respect for the local environment.
The art of serving
The story of the Planica Cake is rounded off by a unique ceramic element designed by Niko Zupan and Barbara Štembergar from the Zavod V-oglje. The dessert is served on a handcrafted ceramic plate shaped like a ski jump, taking the experience to a whole new level.
Did you know that the first Planica ice cream, created in 1974, was also shaped like a ski jump? It even had grooves representing the tracks of skis.
